How long was your recovery time from a vaginal delivery?
I know recovery takes a while. I had a vaginal delivery on June 21st and wanted to get an idea of how long it will take before the soreness in my vaginal area and butt area goes away. I tore a little so I do have stitches that need to heal. I’ve heard up to 6 weeks. Is that what some of you have experienced?

I have had 2 vaginal deliveries, and normally i start feeling alot better after about a month. though the stitches may or may not have healed by then (one time yes and one time no). so hang in there, its gettin better

I had next to no recovery time but it varies from woman to woman. I did the soaks as much as I could and tried not to do too much for the first couple weeks but with a new baby, that’s rough. Just take the time YOU need!

i had sex 3 weeks after my delivery with my second and 8 weeks with my first. and actually i tore pretty bad with my second. so all i can say is it is all up to how you are feeling.

I was up and feeling great within 24 hours of my first one. My second one I was miserable for 4 or 5 weeks. My third one….. well that was N/A (long story). It differs for everyone. As for the wound, yes, it will take around 6 weeks to heal up pretty good. As for your entire body (in all aspects of the word), they say it takes at least a year before everything is back to “normal”.

6 weeks is the normal for everything to heal up. if you are really uncomfortable soak in a bath and use the witch hazel pads. Some dont take as long. Try not to sit around alot though even though you are healing up you still need to move

I am 4 weeks post partum and my soreness didn’t go away until the end of 2-31/2 weeks. I had an episodomy and had a tear on the inside of the libia and the first week and a half was the worse. Now I am feeling pretty good other than back pain.

i had stitches too. the first two weeks were the hardest for me. week three was a bit annoying because of the tightness and the itching of the healing stitches and i was back to almost normal around week 4. walk a little bit here and there if you can, take warm sits baths & showers, take an iboprofen if you cannot tolerate it anymore. i would always take the ibuprofen after i breastfed my LO. just hang in there, all the pain and discomfort is only temporary, it will get better. my LO is now 12 weeks old and the first weeks i was in discomfort seem like a big blurr.

some moms are ready to go after a few days. it took me the full six weeks to even be willing to try resuming “marital relations” and we definitely had to take it slowly. surprisingly, i recovered from my first more quickly than from my second.
if your pain is increasing or you think you are more uncomfortable than you should be, talk to your doctor.

I have had 2 natural deliveries and tore both times, and after that I was ready to and having sex by about a month. With my first baby, it was one month to the day exactly, with my second it was maybe a month and a day or something. Everyone it differnt, thats why its common to hear wait 4-6 weeks….some woman are better at about a month, some a little longer.

I tore in 15 different places, so I am imagining my recovery was a longer then the average healing time. I stopped bleeding at 15 weeks, had an internal at 16 and the doctor said my cervix/uterus was still severely bruised. He said it was a very logn recovery. The places I tore took 2-7 weeks to heal completely and most were healed at 2.
My cousin on the other hand, had a baby two weeks ago. She is done bleeding, her stitch healed and she is exercising again.

I’ve had two vaginal deliveries and tore a little each time. With my first daughter, it took me a solid month before I felt physically comfortable (mental comfort took longer- I worried that I might accidently tear it back open long after it stopped hurting). With my second daughter, I felt pretty great after about a week and a half.
